Ellen moved to Puyallup with her husband several years ago, but after he passed away, she began looking for a place to socialize with other seniors. She eventually found the Senior Activity Center at The Salvation Army in Puyallup. As a member of the Center, she had the opportunity to participate in exercise classes and social activities such as bingo and birthday celebrations, take arts and crafts classes, enjoy a hot meal for lunch and so much more.
Today, Ellen also volunteers in the Social Services office, serving as the receptionist several days a week. Like all of our volunteers, her friendly spirit and willingness to help The Salvation Army, is invaluable as we work every day to meet the needs of others.
We Also Need Your Help
Thanks to your generosity in 2013, The Salvation Army in Puyallup was able to serve thousands throughout the Pierce County communties. Whether it was offering daytime social programs for the elderly, afterschool and character-building programs for our young people, or food assistance to hungry families, we couldn't have done it without you. Your financial donations helped us meet the needs of others without discimination and, working together, we will continue to do so in the future.
